20 Mar York College Wins Gold Award for CH&B-Produced TV Spot

A collaboration between Campbell, Harrington & Brear and Aumen Brothers video production company enabled York College of Pennsylvania to bring home a Gold Award from the 10th annual CUPPIE Awards, held March 9, in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

York College received the Gold Award for TV Advertising, Agency-Produced, for a commercial spot titled “From Day One – Extended Version.”

The awards are presented each year by CUPRAP (College and University Public Relations and Associated Professionals). This year, 385 entries were received from colleges, universities and providers of private, specialized and secondary education in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Delaware and Maryland.

“Working with CHB has allowed me to take York College’s advertising efforts to a new level,” said Mary Dolheimer, York College’s assistant dean, Office of Communications. “They function as an extension of my own staff and are fantastic to work with, bringing expertise, passion, and great customer service to the table. We have seen solid results from our campaigns … CHB is the perfect partner for us.”

The winning commercial spot is merely the latest example of the light, yet informative messaging Campbell, Harrington & Brear has been employing to separate the College from its competition.

York College TV Award“The spots are a testament to what can be done when creative people are given the freedom to execute a vision,” said Angela Wenner, Campbell, Harrington & Brear account director. “Although there were certain key messages that had to be stated, the designer and director were allowed to push the boundaries creatively. Our number one goal was to deliver a college spot that was distinctly different from the typical college spot, and I think we successfully did that.”

Campbell, Harrington & Brear has been a proud partner of York College and the school’s “From Day One” message, creating and orchestrating campaigns utilizing TV, email, digital, and outdoor to increase awareness, Open House attendance, and the pool of applicants.

They’ve been successful campaigns, too, with the school experiencing record event attendance, and year-over-year increases in applications, acceptances and deposits.

Aumen Brothers, a long-time CHB partner, is a production company that works with clients to take projects from seedling ideas to final products ready for theater, broadcast, and online release.
